My daughter asked me the other day why I am so interested in trees all of a sudden.  She has noticed me researching trees, buying books about trees, and basically making the study of trees an obsession.  Why?

Well, they figure prominently in my current WIP (and I am always up for a research boondoggle instead of actually writing) and I want to get them right.  But it’s deeper than that.  So, while I sort out my feelings about trees and continue to research and write about them, I will leave you with a few of my favorite tree pictures from recent years:

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

Walnut Creek Park, Austin, Texas

Pike’s Peak, Colorado
